[When Dante heads downstairs the morning of the twins' birthday, he will a few things left waiting for him. The first is a framed photograph of the twins next to the framed photograph of Eva. No older than five or six, the photo shows how little has actually managed to change between the brothers. Dante has both arms tightly around Vergil's neck with a wide grin. Vergil looks less enthused than Dante, but it isn't a photograph taken moments before a fistfight. He still has an arm around his brother and a quieter smile on his face.]
[The next item is where this photograph came from: a modest-sized photo album. From cover-to-cover, Dante will find the photo album filled with old family photographs that otherwise would have been lost to time and the elements. There are photos of just the twins ranging from infancy to their early childhood both alone and together, and with their parents. Some are plainly posed and others are entirely candid snapshots of what their lives had been before the twins were left to fend for themselves. Inside the cover, Vergil has left a small note:]
